Mogadishu, December 29, 2022; The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud with the President of the brotherly nation of Djibouti H.E. Ismail Omar Guelleh inaugurated the Inter-Governmental Academy of Somali Language in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud commended his Somali brethren, President Ismail Omar Guelleh and the government of Djibouti for contributing to the founding of the Inter-Governmental Academy of Somali Language so that future generations can have access to archives of Somali culture and history and the advancement of the Somali language.
“The Somali language is the bond that keeps the Somali nation together. It’s the only thing that carries our culture and history. Our distinctive identity makes us different than other communities across the globe”
The president of the republic urged artists and innovators to strengthen their role in community awareness and shed light on the importance of governance, since we now have base to intertwine our poetry, language and Somal culture.
On his end, the President of the brotherly Republic of Djibouti H.E. Ismail Omar Guelleh touched up on the benefits for all Somalis with the opening of the Inter-Governmental Academy of Somali Language, with President Ismail Omar Guelleh highlighting the efforts of his government for the founding of the academy knowing it will be root that protects and unites the Somali people.
The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, The Minster of Defense for Kenya H.E. Adam Barre Duale, Ministers and MP’s from the Federal Government of Somalia we’re in attendance for the event.
