Washington DC, December 13, 2022; The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud taking part in the U.S.-African Leaders Summit held a meeting with the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Greenfield.
The president shared the successful gains in the fight against the Al-Shabaab terrorists and highlighted the challenges that Somalia due to the arms embargo, with the president bringing fourth the bravery of the Somali National Army in liberating the regions of Middle Shabelle and Hiiraan from the clutches of terrorists.
The President of the Republic Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud commended the bravery and resilience of the public in support of the Somali National Army that have liberated them from the unbearable and inhumane conditions in the districts and towns that have been eradicated of Khawaraji terrorists, which have destroyed the way of life and services essential to these local communities.
The President of the Federal Republic hopes that the American diplomats will give their voices in calling for the United Nations Security Council to support plans for the rebuilding of the Somali armed forces, the lifting of the arms embargo, countering the dangers posed by climate change and the rebuilding of districts liberated from the Khawarij Al-Shabaab.
