H.E PRESIDENT HASSAN SHEIK HOLDS TALKS WITH THE PRIME MINISTER OF ETHIOPIA

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has today held bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia H.E Abiy Ahmed in Addis Ababa.

During their talks, the two leaders expressed their unwavering commitment to tackling our shared challenges including the current drought, poverty, and insecurity, enriching and expanding the historic ties between our two neighboring nations and peoples of Somalia and Ethiopia to attain fruitful cooperation on various fronts.

H.E President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reiterated his desire to strengthen cooperation and collaboration between our nations for the development and stability of the Horn of Africa as captured in his vision of Somalia at peace with its itself and with the rest of the world.

On his part, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed reaffirmed Ethiopia’s readiness to enhance cooperation with the Federal Government of Somalia to achieve economic prosperity, peace, and stability.

The accompanying delegation of H.E President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud for the visit which was led by Cabinet Ministers also held a bilateral meeting with their Ethiopian counterparts where they discussed furthering the relations between the two countries to boost cooperation for the mutual success of our neighborly nations.
