Somalia and Turkey sign key development agreements on areas of security, economy and investment

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo held various talks on bilateral relations with the President of Turkey HE RecepTayyip Erdogan.

 

The two heads of states agreed on all points of discussion on the areas of security, economy, investment, Education and other key areas of development as well cultural exchange efforts and support for the upcoming London Conference on Somalia, next month

 

Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and international relations, Yussuf Garad and Turkey’s Development Minister Lutfi Elvan signed the agreements on behalf of the two countries.

 

President Erdogan thanked the government and people Somalia on their support following the failed coup attempt in Turkey. Erdogan further said Turkey would always extend brotherly support to Somalia

 

President Farmaajo praised the government and people of Turkey for the warm reception in his first state visit to Ankara as president of Somalia.

 

The president was received with the honorary 21-gun salute.
